I am currently looking for families in Shreveport or Bossier City to volunteer to host a foreign exchange student for the upcoming school year. As someone who has experienced the hospitality of a host family in another country, I know what an amazing experience it is for both the host family and student! Host families can be any type of family, whether your kids are all off to college or you have young children at home we can work together to bring an exchange student to Shreveport.I am based here in Shreveport to oversee the placement of students, their enrollment in school for the upcoming school year (August-May), and to ensure both the host family and student are happy. Host families are required to provide their students with 2 meals per day and a place to sleep (they don't have to have their own room), as well as a warm and welcoming environment. Students come with their own spending money and health insurance as well as a lot of personality and culture to share!
The students I am trying to place with families before June 2009 come from countries as diverse as Germany, South Korea, and Kyrgyzstan. If you are interested in hosting a student, finding out more, or sharing this opportunity with someone you know who would make a great host family, please contact me by phone or e-mail:

If your community organization, church group, or group of friends would be interested in gathering together for a presentation about hosting a student--I would love to come and share more about these students with you!
Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you!
