I am trying to find out information telling me if my family were legally U.S citizens. My G G Grandfather Kurt Virus moved from somewhere in Germany in 1903 to Pond Creek Oklahoma purchasing a homested there. My G G Grandmother Francesca Kreiser Virus (possibly using both last names)and her daughter my G Grandmother Annie Maria(Marie) Kreiser Virus moved there sometime after or around 1913 to be with him ( I think ).I also need to know if they got married in the States. If they did then this whole thing may be summed up. Isnt it true that if you marry an American you can become a citizen of the U.S. Possibly back then you didnt need to worry bout that but I know now that you do. This whole thing is just confusing for me . Now what I need is naturalization records or some records showing if they had U.S citizenship. I am planning on moving to the States and did find out that if someone in direct line of ancestry has or had U.S citizenship that I too could have it because it is passed directly down the line in a family. This help would be greatly appreciated . Feel free to email me with ANY info. whether it be how I can find this info on my own or actual info on my family. I am very confused and dont have a clue where to start with my search. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Stephy (edited May 14, 2004).] IP: Logged |
