Hello - looking to find any info on Smokador Manufacturing Company. I have a cigar/smoke stand that was manufactured by this company and I understand it was in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Any information about the Company would be helpful. I'm trying to figure how old this piece is as well as get some history on it. It has been in my family for many years. Thanks for your assistance. Smokador relocated to Cranford/Kenilworth, NJ for a few years. Then a new warehouse was built in Edison which Smokador relocated to in the 80's. Smokador then was bought-out and closed by a large office product company in PA, like Steelcase. Not sure of the name, but I was one of those people let go through the buyout during that time period. Smokador stopped making ash urns just about that time and concentrate on the plastics of office equipment. Anything made back then would be a collectors item today. Hello, We use to work for Western Electric late sixties early seventies who used to give ash trays to smokers, the ash trays, which we are looking for, were The Genunie Shuff-a doer by this company. Are these still available?.

Hi, I also have a stand that is very old. I was able to search the net for the patent numbers that were on the bottom and found the patents were issued in 1925. While it doesn't give me the mfg date, it does give a good ball park time frame. If you have any other information about smokador around that time frame, i would really appreciate it. I also have a SMOKADOR Ashtray. It stands about 30" high and is a dragon. Heavy iron ornate stand that has been painted at least three times from what I can tell. It was my grandfathers. I estimate also that it is from about 1930. US patent on mine is 1547337. Same company in Bloomfield NJ.IP: Logged |
