We are trying to find out if the Nordic Stove Manufacturing Co. still exists and if so how to contact them. The address on the side of the stove just says Lovelock, Nevada. Any help would be appreciated as we need a part. Thanks.

I also have a Nordic Stove (Norseman) and am looking for parts. I called Loveland information and was told that no such listing existed. They must have moved or gone out of business. What I wonder is if anyone is sitting on a bunch of parts for the stoves. Most companies that go out of business leave parts around.

I've recieved several emails from people on this subject too. So far it sounds like though the company made great stoves, they're gone. Hopefully someone will show up some day with a place for parts. Thanks to the ones who have replied.

Jan and the others --

Here are two companies that still use the name "Nordic Stove" ... perhaps they might be able to assist you with your needs:

Nordic Stove & Fireplace Center
1374 E. Putnam Ave
Old Greenwich, CT 06870
(203) 637-40004

Nordic Stove Shoppe
75 Dover Point Rd
Dover, NH 03820
(603) 749-4660

Good luck.....

There is a company in Anchorage Alaska that sells the brand Nordic Stove. Their web address is www.rural-energy.com

Go to the tent and cabin section, and select oil burning tent stoves. Hope this help all of you. John

I also have an Erik Woood Coal Combination fireplace insert manufactured by Nordic Stove Manufacturing, Inc. for which I now need grates. Their address was Rt. 1, Box 94, Lovelock, Nevada. They became part of American Road Equipment Co. at 4201 N. 26th Street, Omaha, NE 68111. I found out that a man by the name of John Agee was involved in both companies. Several years ago, I contacted the chamber of commerce and the Douglas County Historical Society and neither of which had any idea of where this man or the two companies went. I did just stumble upon a place called woodman's Parts Plus (www.woodmanspartplus.com). They have a bunch of grates, different sizes, etc. I have to measure things up and hope one fits. Did anyone else have any luck???

I joined this group after finding the thread about Nordic stoves while searching the net. I have an Erik that I may put back in service and I HAVE the original Owner Guide. I could scan a copy but haven't learned how to send it to those who want one without putting my phone or e-mail out in cyberspace. Let me know if you want a copy and we'll work it out. I'm interested in hearing how these stoves perform - considering it for my 1000 sf cabin and wondering if it may be too big.

I have a Nordic Little Eric. I want to install it in a place we just bought. I'm not sure where the parts go inside the stove. 1. There is a steel plate, I'm not sure if it should stand up against the back of the stove or lay on the bottom.
2. there is what looks like what was an angle iron frame, it is rusted away.
I can make any part that is needed, just need to know what was this part for and where the plate sits. If anyone can help that would be great. Thankyou Richard

Peterpan, I would love a copy.

As far as how they work: This stove was in a friend's house. He, my friend, loved it saying" its a good en!"
His wife didn't like wood being carried into the house and wanted it out. I remember it working well, heating his place, a two story house, up here in the Sierra Nevada range in winter. These stoves are adjustable, you can get as much heat as you want. Hope this helps.

Richard

Installed the plate. Works much better, uses less wood, the glass stays cleaner, throws much more heat. We are very pleased.
