Hi! I am looking for festivals and other local events in the Ohio area. I have started selling at some festivals in my area, and am interested in going to some new ones, but I am not sure where to find list of them all. ------------------ Thanks so much!! October93 IP: Logged |

Have you contacted the Chamber of Commerce in your area? Maybe they'll have a list of festivals, etc. for you. By the way, what are you selling?IP: Logged |

Hi, no I have not, but I will give it a try. I have baby turtles and supplies. Kids and adults both go crazy! (LOL) The kids like them because they are little and new to them. The adults like them because it takes them back to their childhood when they used to buy them (or if they were lucky to find them). (I love hearing the stories the adults tell! I swear you can almost see them go back in time!!) They (the turtles)are just so cute! A lot of teachers even buy them for their classrooms. Thank you for the advice!! IP: Logged |

The turtles sound cute and it's nice that you are so enthusiastic about what you do. Good luck!IP: Logged |

Are you absolutely nuts or just plain stupid??? First of all, it is highly unethical to send home a pet with someone who didn't want it, didn't plan for it, and has no idea how to care for it. I don't suppose you give out care sheets with your turtles, do you? Second, it is highly illegal. Federal law prohibits the sales, distribution, or trade of ANY turtle under 4 inches. Period. Ohio state law prohibits selling, giving away, or distributing native species- this includes red eared sliders, which I have no doubt are the turtles that you are talking about. You are in violation of both federal and state laws. You should be aware that many organizations, mine included, are actively tracking down distributors of illegal turtles, especially those given to children at fairs and carnivals. The idea is absolutely irresponsible and immoral. You will be reported to the Ohio Division of Wildlife and USDA. Your message posts have been copied and forwarded to those agencies, and there are people canvassing these events looking for you and everyone else who participates in this illegal and unethical activity. Expect a visit from a wildlife officer or health department official at your next carnival or fair. IP: Logged | |
