I believe people are in search of believing something that's why this kind of unrealistic beliefs like reincarnation occur. Some people believe they will find the happiness and peace of mind they are looking for in religions such as Hinduism or Buddhism. Many people have been influenced by these eastern religions because of their aura of mystery and mysticism, and because they make use of techniques such as meditation, and because of the unusual attitudes, dress, manner of speech and religious practices of those who follow them. However, although religions like Hinduism and Buddhism- among the oldest we know of-give some good ethical advice, not everything they contain is true. It could be argued that not everything contained in the Bible or the Koran is strictly and literally true. There is no way the human brain can fully understand that which is so far beyond our intellectual capacity, so no matter what spiritual path is followed, there will always be misconceptions about that transcendent Being we call God.IP: Logged |

People believe in reincarnation because it makes sense. It is impossible to believe in a God who condemns the beings he created to everlasting fire. He gave us a wonderful mind to use in reasoning things out for ourselves so surely He expects us to use it and to learn and how else to learn except by having same experiences over and over until the lesson is learned and the growth of the soul continues. Have you never heard that "nothing is new under the sun"?IP: Logged |
