Author Topic:   maryville hotel sham aprox 1950-1880 kcoleary0179 New Member Posts: 1 From:Fontana, CA., usa Registered: Sep 2009 posted September 13, 2009 03:55 AM                I'm researching a family story told to have taken place in Marysville CA. aprox 1850-1880. Family members B E Hickok,or charles T Hickok was a partner with a group of towns people who bought a Hotel, each party bought and sold to another party raising the value( taking money from the bank) resold to partner to do the same. Findly going BK on the bank. One of the partners may have worked for the bank. the hotel was large and in main town.(name unknow) Im searching for info and pictures and or where I might find Info. I also believe the family may have owned a flour mill in the area or oakland area. Family was still listed in 1880 census. Family came from Pittstown NY, 3 members of Hickok married 3 Wadsworth in NY and some how traviled to Marysville. some later moved to LA, CA area.
